Southampton Customs Clearance
DP World Southampton is part of the growing portfolio of marine terminal operations owned or managed by DP World. With its 51% shareholding, DP World, along with its partner Associated British Ports (ABP), is continuing to develop DP World Southampton to meet the growing demand for container handling facilities in the UK.
The Isle of White and Southampton's upriver location offer the port a remarkably sheltered position from the prevailing winds. The unique 'double tide' also gives the port a longer tidal window to handle the deepest draught ships, ideal for the container ships operating the Northern Europe - Far East trades that directly connect Southampton to 34 ports throughout Asia.
Road, rail or feeder ships provide onward distribution through the UK, around the UK and into mainland Europe.
Grange Shipping have offered Customs clearance services in Southampton, utilising direct links to the port (through CNS Compass) and Customs (via CHIEF, Customs' computer system), since the year 2000.
We have computer links to the HMI / FERA via the DEFRA PEACH system and are registered on Port Health's TRACES system for declaring fresh produce and fresh / frozen meats and fish imported into the UK.
We're also AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) approved at the highest level by HMRC and Home Office Section 5 licence holders.
Our Customs clearance team have a wealth of experience available to our customers, many of which have been with us since the company was established in 1979!
