On 12th February 2014 Hooton Park hosted the first round of Cheshire Kart Racing Club’s championship where Joseph Cooper took his first win in his first race of 2014, winning every heat and the final in dominant form!
Grange Shipping would like to congratulate Joseph on a fantastic start to the year!
In January 2013, Joseph was involved in a cycling accident, suffering multiple breaks to his leg and foot which left him unable to walk for 5 months. At one stage surgeons considered foot amputation as the injury was so severe – Joseph now has multiple pins and plates in his leg but refuses to let this hinder him.
After the accident, he had to study at home (largely alone) to pass his exams and gain acceptance to university for September 2013 to study motorsports engineering.
Joseph's father tells us "His tenacity and ambition to return to competitive racing at national level was supported by Grange and now he is seeing the rewards. Wherever his career path leads he will never forget the support and encouragement from Grange who supported him and contributed most generously to his recovery plan."
Joseph's next race is at Kimbolton, Cambridge this weekend and we all wish him the continued success he deserves!
