Grange 40th Anniversary

Register for TSP

This week we wanted to draw your attention to the recently announced Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP) by HMRC. These procedures are designed to make the import process easier if Britain leaves the EU on the 29th March without a trade deal.

To take advantage of this simplified system, businesses need to register for them and registration is open now.

Before registering for TSP, you will need to have an EORI number, again it's simple to apply for your EORI number, you should do this as soon as possible. You can apply here.

What exactly is TSP?
TSP is designed to make importing from the UK much simpler and to avoid delays at the borders.
Transitional simplified procedures reduce the amount of information you need to give in an import declaration when the goods are crossing the border. They do this by allowing you to defer:
• giving a full declaration
• paying any duty

Full details of the requirements to register can be found on the UK Government website here.

If you are an importer of goods, you should be sure to get up to speed as this is not something any carrier or forwarder can do on behalf of your business. However, once you are registered, we will be able to make customs declarations on your behalf using these procedures.
