Grange Shipping – Privacy Notice

This privacy policy sets out how Grange Shipping uses and protects any information (data) that you may give to us.

Grange Shipping is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified then you can be assured that it is relevant to our relationship with you, will be used appropriately and only in accordance with this privacy statement.

We may collect and hold the following information:

Contact details and postal addresses of our Customers, Suppliers and other relevant third parties such as HM Customs, Port Authorities, Shipping and Air Lines.

We also hold individual job details which in addition to the above will include details of the shipment, load point transit point(s) and delivery points including contact details as required.

What we do with the information we gather:

As a business we require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a service in our role as your Freight Forwarder, Customs Broker or Port Agent.

We have a legal duty to exercise due diligence to ensure the Safety and Security of the Revenue & Logistics Chain as well as to our Staff and the Public in general. As required we will therefore use relevant sources of information or procedures to validate the information we receive. This may include credit checking Agencies, Search Engines, Web sites and any other appropriate sources.

Your information may also be supplied to our sub-contractors to allow them to complete their task. It may also need to be supplied to relevant third parties and statutory bodies such as Customs / Port Health / Port Authorities / Shipping and Airlines. Again, whatever of your information we supply to these parties will be relevant and appropriate to the business in hand and our safety, security and statutory obligations

Your information will never be sold to third parties for their sales or promotional purposes

Your information may be used internally to improve our products and services.

We may periodically send promotional literature about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the contact details which you have provided.

We retain personal information for our staff (past and present) for payroll, statutory and welfare reasons to fulfil our role as a responsible employer.

To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure of information and as per our Safety & Security Procedures we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.

We will hold your data and information securely and for no longer than is necessary as defined by our statutory HMRC, VAT and audit obligations.

Data (in all forms) will be safely stored / backed up then deleted in accordance with our Documents and Records Procedures.
